“We were probably listing 50 to 250 styles a day. Now we’re up to at least 2,000 a day. That impact automatically drives our top-line GMV growth.” — Camille Ewing, Director Marketplace Strategy, Merchandising & Allocation
Company Background
Revive partners with leading fashion brands like Michael Kors and Quince to give damaged or unsellable goods a second life. Through strategic refurbishing and resale across platforms like Poshmark and eBay, Revive creates new revenue streams while keeping products out of landfills.
Operating with a lean corporate team of around 15-20 people, Revive manages brand relationships, refurbishes inventory, and drives sustainable revenue growth through resale operations.
Challenge
As Revive’s reputation grew, so did the scale and complexity of its operations. Partner brands began sending larger volumes of returned or damaged goods, each requiring detailed processing before resale. What started as a manageable internal workflow quickly evolved into a logistical challenge that strained the company’s lean team.
While the business model was clearly working, Revive’s processes hadn’t yet caught up with its growth, and those became a bottleneck that limited how fast the company could scale.
High Volume of Incoming Product
Partner brands shipped tens of thousands of returned or damaged units at a time. Each item needed an individual SKU, product description, and image set which is an enormous task for a small internal team.
Platform Data Mismatches
Brand data didn’t always match marketplace requirements. For instance, while resale platforms only accepted limited color categories (e.g., 15 standard options), brand submissions often included nuanced shades such as “turquoise.”
Missing or Incomplete SKUs
Some products arrived without scannable SKUs, requiring staff to manually identify each item using Google Lens, past listings, or web searches to match products correctly—slowing down the listing process significantly.
Manual, Inefficient Process
Before Flexscale, listings were uploaded manually, one style at a time. Without automation or scalable workflows, Revive’s small team struggled to keep up with the mounting product volume.
“We realized as we were listing more and more on these different sites—up to thousands a day—that with our small and mighty corporate team, we didn’t have enough bandwidth to keep up,” shares Camille Ewing, Director of Marketplace Strategy.
Solution
To meet growing demand without overextending its internal team, Revive looked for a partner who could deliver both scalability and quality. The company needed a way to handle high-volume listings, clean up inconsistent data, and streamline product identification—without compromising accuracy or speed. That’s where Flexscale came in.
Flexscale helped Revive build a dedicated offshore team that acted as a true extension of their operations. Instead of simply filling roles, Flexscale developed a team equipped to understand Revive’s brand standards, systems, and long-term goals.
Skilled Offshore Talent
Flexscale’s team quickly learned Revive’s unique listing processes, including how to identify products without SKUs and align brand data to each resale platform’s requirements. Key contributors like Sunshine took initiative early, training new hires and developing internal shortcuts, such as a centralized stock image library, to speed up listings and improve consistency.
Seamless Communication
Using shared Slack channels, both teams maintained open, real-time communication. This setup made collaboration seamless, enabling quick responses, transparent feedback, and proactive problem-solving. Revive’s leadership consistently praised the team’s professionalism, accuracy, and reliability.
Structured Oversight & Feedback
Under the leadership of Marketplace Content Manager Brittany Williams, Flexscale introduced structured output tracking and performance reporting. Beyond execution, the team shared workflow insights that helped Revive fine-tune internal processes and strengthen overall efficiency.
“They can actually contribute to how we do things on a regular basis, not just answer one-off questions.” — Brittany Williams, Marketplace Content Manager
Flexibility with Scale
As Revive onboarded new brand partners, Flexscale assigned experienced “anchor” team members to pilot projects, ensuring consistency and quality while adapting to the unique needs of each brand collaboration.
Results
The partnership between Revive and Flexscale delivered measurable operational gains and positioned the company for scalable growth. By delegating repetitive, time-intensive tasks to Flexscale, Revive unlocked new capacity within its core team and increased overall business velocity.
In just a short time, Revive transitioned from a bottlenecked workflow to a high-performing, scalable operation capable of handling exponential growth—without adding corporate overhead.
8x Increase in Listings
Daily listing volume grew from 50–250 units to 2,000+ units per day, dramatically improving sell-through rates and driving up Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) across multiple resale platforms.
Hours Saved for the Core Team
With Flexscale handling the listing workload, Revive’s internal team could shift focus to higher-value areas such as building new brand partnerships, enhancing merchandising strategies, and scaling revenue operations.
Improved Accuracy & Speed
Flexscale’s expertise in SKU management and taxonomy alignment reduced errors and turnaround time, creating a faster, more reliable listing process.
Culture of Ownership
Flexscale team members went beyond day-to-day responsibilities, taking ownership of continuous improvement. Sunshine, for instance, independently built a stock image archive that streamlined workflow and boosted efficiency. “She wasn’t asked to do that, but she went above and beyond—and it sped things up enormously,” shares Camille.
